Workshop at IIT-Patna on Revitalizing School Physics Education for Kendriya Vidyalaya Teachers.

A workshop entitled “REvitalizing School Physics Education through Concept-oriented Teaching in KVs (RESPECT KVs) for PG teachers, will be organized at IIT-Patna, Bihta, jointly by the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT-Patna) and the National Anveshika Network of India, from 21st to 23rd October, 2016. National coordinator Prof (Dr.) H. C. Verma (IIT-Kanpur), Dr. Utpal Roy (Head, Department of Physics, IIT-Patna), and Dr. Manoranjan Kar (local convener, IIT-Patna) will conduct the workshop. The workshop will be inaugurated by Prof. Pushpak Bhattacharyya, Director, IIT-Patna. Nearly 34 KV teachers from Bhopal, New Delhi, Jabalpur, Patna, Mumbai and other regions of India, together with all the faculty members, students and staffs of the Department of Physics, IIT-Patna, will participate in this workshop. The workshop includes 27 hands-on-experiments and about 9 lectures on various topics of physics. The workshop aims for developing and advocating innovative experiments related to physics teaching, learning, and providing inspiration to the participants towards research. The participating KV teachers will acquire innovative ideas for teaching which will help them to carry forward their teaching skills to the class rooms more effectively.
