The department of Physics was established in August 2008 to train undergraduate engineering students. In July 2009 the department will admit students for doctoral programme. The modern research facilities like Source Measure Units, Evaporation Systems, Low Temperature Measurement Systems, Lasers, Spatial Light Modulators, and CCD Cameras are created. The department is engaged in research and development in the frontier areas of Condensed Matter Physics and Optics.
